Originally a screenwriter and project manager at a film production company in Taipei, Katniss Hsiao made her debut as a novelist with Before We Were Monsters, achieving bestseller status and securing publication in eight countries. Joanne Deng, who started her career as an actress in theaters and films, found instant success with her first full-length novel, Second Lead. Both titles were also selected for the prestigious "Shoot the Book!" list at Cannes.
