This panel aims to promote the visibility and recognition of queer literature by exploring the current state, challenges, and possibilities of queer writing from across Southeast Asia / the Philippines. Different historical and cultural contexts that helped shape the queer experience in Southeast Asia will be discussed, along with queer literary works from established and emerging writers that range from coming-of-age stories to social critiques.
