About

The Prague Book Tower is a fair for uncensored literature held in Prague, bringing together Russian-speaking writers, publishers and readers living in various countries outside Russia. Amid growing repression against authors and publishers within Russia, Prague Book Tower has become an important independent platform for free literary dialogue and support of uncensored culture.

In September we held the fair for the second time. The programme featured meetings with writers, a conference of independent bookshops, a pitching session for foreign publishers called ‘How to write about war, cyber surveillance and the transformation of the Russian elite in a way that will be read around the world’, and the participation of more than 25 publishing houses and magazines from Europe and other countries.

Special attention was given to non-fiction books about contemporary Russia written by renowned investigative journalists, as well as themes of identity, emigration, and the international presence of uncensored Russian-language literature.
