The historical and current significance of Chilean poetry in Germany . A renowned German author, a Chilean poet of growing international renown and his translator dialogue about the significance of Chilean poetry in Germany, from the historical into the contemporary.

Discussion on the historical and current significance of Chilean poetry in Germany between German author Jan Kuhlbrodt (2023 Alfred Döblin Prize), Chilean poet Tomás Cohen and translator Luisa Donnerberg. They will discuss the importance of the work of Nobel Prize winners Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda and the influence of Nicanor  Parra's anti-poetry in contemporary Chilean poetry and its representation through German publications, as well as the need for new translations. As part of the discussion, poems from Tomás Cohen's poetry collection Eine Sternwarte im Badezimmer (Elif Verlag, 2023) will be read bilingually.
