About

Colonia Dignidad represents a huge clash of jurisdictional cultures between Germany and Chile. Historian and political activist Emma Sepúlveda has just published “Erineerungen von Ilse an Colonia Dignidad” (Buxus Edition, 2024), the story of a woman from Colonia Dignidad, based on true events. For the author This story is a tribute and homage to all the survivors who were able to free themselves and to the memory of those who died in the attempt. Jan Stehle is a researcher at the Chilean-Latin America Research and Documentation Centre (FDCL) in Berlin. He has studied the Colonia Dignidad case, focusing on the political and legal responsibilities of both states. Vivian Lavín is a journalist. She has been developing the human rights programme "Memoria de las Mujeres" (Women's Memory) since 2015.  She is the author of "Volveremos a pisar las calles" (Cuatro Lunas, 2023).
