For the last 23 years, Diwan has proudly served as Egypt’s leading destination for knowledge, culture, and connection. From the very beginning, our vision was to drive and enrich Egypt’s cultural ecosystem. We reimagined what a bookstore could be—transforming the traditional book-buying experience into a dynamic journey of exploration and community-building.
Our shelves reflect the diversity of our readers and their interests. We offer a thoughtfully curated collection of Arabic and English titles, including best-selling and niche works in fiction and non-fiction.
Founded in 2021, Diwan Publishing brings together inspiring authors, compelling content, and talented artists to create books that resonate across generations. Its growing portfolio features both literary legends—such as Taha Hussein, Youssef El Sebai, Ahmed Bahgat, and Mostafa Mahmoud—and a new wave of contemporary voices spanning genres and themes. The imprint also extends its storytelling through art books, workshops, and a newly launched podcast aimed at nurturing creativity and cultural dialogue.
In 2022, Diwan acquired the rights to the works of Nobel Laureate Naguib Mahfouz and launched the Naguib Mahfouz Project, an ambitious initiative to celebrate his legacy and introduce his work to new generations of readers.
Diwan Publishing is also expanding its reach through a dedicated translation initiative that enriches the Arabic literary canon. This includes translating significant Arabic works into other languages, while also offering Egyptian editions of landmark French titles—bridging cultures and broadening literary access.
