Jean Giraud, aka Mœbius or Gir, is a legendary comic book artist and illustrator who has published numerous classics throughout his 50-year career worldwide. He is known for his meticulous and detailed drawing and his mastery of the clear line, often incorporating surreal elements.
His best-known works include Blueberry (1963), Arzach (1975), The Airtight Garage (1979), The world of Edena (1983), The Incal (1990), 40 days in désert B (2001) and Inside Mœbius (2004).
In addition to his comics, his art spans several mediums, including film design (Alien, The Fifth Element, Abyss, Tron, Jodorowsky’s Dune), advertising (Hermès, Agnès B, Citröen), and the illustration of literary classics (The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Dante’s Paradiso, François Villon’s Ballades, etc.)
Mœbius Production, formerly Stardom, was founded in 2001 by Isabelle and Jean Giraud to manage their artistic projects, books, and fine art prints themselves, while directly managing copyright. Since Jean Giraud’s passing in 2012, his family has continued this adventure with the same passion and commitment.
