Founded in Geneva in 1988 by Michèle Stroun, Metropolis Editions were taken over in 2019 by Marie Hasse, who is now joined by Emeline Cusin.
Metropolis embodies more than thirty years of boldness and courage, of rigor, intellectual integrity, and tenacity. A touch of madness, too—because one has to be a little mad to embark on such an adventure. People usually speak of an editorial line, but here what emerges is rather a temperament, a fervor, a curiosity that has gradually found expression through several collections.
They now present a catalogue of more than two hundred titles, spread across seven collections. The eclecticism of their publishing choices—always marked by high literary as well as historical standards—has shaped both the richness and the uniqueness of their identity.
