Die deutsche Bohem Press GmbH sowie die Schweizer Bohem Press AG sind aus dem Schweizer Traditionsverlag Bohem Press hervorgegangen, der 1973 in Zürich gegründet wurde. Von Anfang an war es das Ziel des Verlags, zeitlose Bilderbücher mit ethischem und künstlerischem Anspruch zu veröffentlichen. Auch heute noch veröffentlicht das engagierte Team nach Tradition der Gründer Bilderbücher internationaler Illustrator*innen und Autor*innen mit großem Augenmerk auf künstlerische Aspekte und besondere Ausstattung.  Das Programm wurde um Geschichten mit regionalem Bezug unter dem Imprint „Heimatliebe“ und Bücher für junge Erwachsene erweitert, doch vor allem zeichnet sich die Bohem Press durch zeitlose Bilderbücher aus.

The two branches Bohem Press GmbH in Münster, Germany and Bohem Press AG in Switzerland emerged from the traditional Swiss publishing house Bohem Press, which was founded in Zurich in 1973. From the very beginning, the aim of Bohem Press was to publish timeless picture books with a focus on ethical and artistic qualities. Today, the dedicated team still publishes picture books by international illustrators and authors in the tradition of the founders, with a strong focus on artistic aspects and book design. Apart from the publication of new titles, Bohem Press also redesigns and reprints old titles from the very beginning of the publishing house. These classics include picture books by authors and artists like Józef Wilkoń, Max Bolliger, and Štěpán Zavřel in order to maintain the tradition and art of the founders. The current programme of Bohem Press also includes graphic novels for young adults and titles with a regional reference in Swiss dialect, but above all Bohem Press is characterised by timeless picture books.
