Founded in 1990, Anvil Publishing offers print books and e-books in a wide range of genres such as literary and historical fiction, young adult novels, popular fiction, children’s story books, cookbooks, history and culture. Their vision is to bring world-class reads within every Filipino's reach in the context of the country's stories, journeys, and experiences.
Anvil is an eleven-time Publisher of the Year Awardee in the National Book Awards given by the Manila Critics Circle and the Best General Interest Publisher awarded by the Gintong Aklat Awards 2022-23.
Its recent awards include Wild Song by Candy Gourlay for Best Reads at the 2024 National Children’s Book Awards; Voyager and Other Fictions: The Collected Stories of Jose Dalisay for Best Book of Short Fiction in English; and Dila at Bandila: Ang Paghahanap sa Pambansang Panlasa sa Filipinas by Ige Ramos for Best Book on Food at the 39th National Book Awards (2021). Ramos's book won the same award at the Gintong Aklat Awards in 2020, alongside Best Book Design for Jan Top Christensen's Hans Christian Andersen and Jose Rizal: From Denmark to the Philippines. The Business of Banking by Deogracias N. Vistan won Best Book on Humor, Sports, Lifestyle, and Business at the 40th National Book Awards (2022).
